Reflections Nr.1
Vitruv Nr.1
Vitruv Nr.2

I was born 1988 in Japan, live and work in Cologne & Dortmund. As a child i was very much exposed to the artistic work of my parents Elke Kim, Ken Mai and my uncle Bernd Arnold. This gradually formed my enormous interest in photography. I have special admiration and draws inspiration from different works, which is reflected in my own work. My Photography is characterized by a visionary world which consists of highly complex compositions, scenarios as seen in motion picture, idiosyncratic images, which create an astonishing parallel universe where the impossible becomes possible. In my artwork the law of gravity is disbanded. The same applies to the 'taken for granted' proportions, patterns and formations - all constantly challenged.

I takes my viewers to a world of my own, touched by surrealism. The mortal on earth, whom i presents in diverse strands, remains my most significant motivation. My ability to create this kind of photography is aided at large by very elaborate sets including characters from my early days, individuals and symbols that fascinate me or play an immense role in my life. The wildly imaginative pictures are charged with my own interpretation of historical art work in a spirit of the modern age.

Since 2009 i study photography in Dortmund, currently doing an internship at Erwin Olaf Studios in the Netherlands and be part of the artist movement “Artists for Freedom” fighting against human trafficking.

Today i have a studio with my mother and artist Elke Kim in the art gallery Rhenania.

The Series "Vitruv" is a collaboration with my mother. She painted over the printed pictures and we build up a new World with new proportions based on the Vitruv sketch of Leonardo Davinci.
